Shelby has a natural gift for catching people in moments of joy. As a teenager, she took up photography, realizing that she loved to preserve special memories for others. A young entrepreneur, Shelby got herself a job taking pictures at high school sporting events. She found meaning in witnessing some of the most profound moments in these young athletes’ lives.
When Shelby thinks about what brings her joy, her 3-year old son, Zander, comes to mind. After work, Shelby and Zander can be found at the park riding bikes or at home singing their hearts out in a round of karaoke. Creating a good life for her son motivates Shelby in her work at the bakery. When it comes to Flourish, Shelby says “It’s a home away from home.” Shelby’s childhood home was not always a joyful place, but she experiences a different sense of family at work. She quickly noticed that the people at Flourish Bakery care about one another, and that here, “I can be myself.” Shelby’s authentic self is a gift to all who know her at Flourish.
